The contract covers the operation of around 2.5 million train-km on two routes:
RMV Line 55: Frankfurt (Main) – Offenbach/Frankfurt East – Hanau – Aschaffenburg – Laufach
RMV Line 77: Aschaffenburg – Darmstadt – Mainz – Wiesbaden
RMV is leading the procurement on behalf of its partners in the tender, the Bavarian Rail Authority (BEG) and South Rhineland Palatinate Regional Rail Transport (ZSPNV-Süd). The contract will be structured to allow the authorities to increase the number of services operated if required.
The contract will run from December 2018 to December 2033.
