Wadi - Guntakal line electrification completed

SOUTH Central Railway (SCR) announced that, along with Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), it has completed the electrification of the 228km Wadi - Guntakal line in southern India.


The section is part of the 1203km Delhi - Bangalore main line, which will now run entirely on electric traction without a change of locomotive, as well as the 1104km Mumbai - Bangalore main line.

The current journey time between Mumbai and Bangalore is 22h 56m, while Delhi - Bangalore takes 36 hours.
