According to Müller and Giesel, the 1.2km extension could be constructed for as little as €80-85m because a suitable 600m tunnel already exists along part of the route.

The proposed extension would include new stations at Eichhorster Weg, Märkisches Zentrum, and Senftenberger Ring.

It is envisaged that around 60% of the funding required for the project would come from the German federal government.
