The new APM will travel underground for 400m to reach in less than one minute a new satellite terminal, which is being built to provide additional capacity at the airport. Bombardier will supply 12 Innovia APM 300 vehicles, Cityflo 650 automatic train control, platform screen doors, onboard and wayside CCTV systems, communications and power distribution systems for the 700m double-track line. Bombardier's contract also includes civil construction contracts.
The system is due to begin operations in 2014, in time for test running of the satellite facility, and after which Bombardier's nine-year operations and maintenance contract will commence.
