The trains will have capacity for 1200 passengers and a top operating speed of 120km/h providing a journey time of 40 minutes on the line which will have 14 stations and run from Shilong to Humen Coach Terminal. The trains will operate at an average speed of 55km/h.

The new trains will be equipped with Bombardier's Mitrac propulsion system after CSR Nanjing awarded Bombardier together with New United Group (NU) a Yuan 180m contract on June 28. Bombardier's facilities in Västerås, Sweden, and Changzhou, China, will supply the equipment with Bombardier also responsible for testing, commissioning and initial supply of spare parts in China. Its share of the contract is Yuan 102m.
