The vehicles will be assembled in India at Bombardier's Salvi plant in Gujarat with deliveries scheduled to take place between the third quarter of next year and early 2018.

Each six-car set will accommodate up to 1740 passengers and the trains will accommodate up to 2400 passengers when extended to an eight-car formation.

The order will take the total number of Bombardier vehicles on the Delhi metro network to 776.
