THE Société du Grand Paris, which is responsible for developing the French capital's €22.6bn 205km orbital express metro network, has awarded a second project management contract worth more than €12m to Arcadis.

The 15-year contract relates to the 26km 10-station Orange Line, or Line 15 East, which will run initially from Saint-Denis Pleyel via Stade de France, Bobigny, Bondy and Rosny Bois Perrier, to Champigny Centre. The first section from Saint-Denis Pleyel to Rosny is due to open 2025, with completion to Champigny Centre in 2030. The line will be extended in a second phase west from Saint-Denis Pleyel to La Garenne-Colombes and Nanterre La Folie.

Arcadis was awarded a similar contract in 2013 for the 100km 40-station orbital Red Line which also includes a branch to Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport. The Red and Orange lines will be designated lines 15, 16 and 17 and form part of the Paris metro network.

Arcadis will be involved in project and programme management services, provide technical assistance, and assist with the interfaces with the existing transport network in Paris.
