THE cabinet of the Indian state of Maharashtra gave the go-ahead on September 27 for two metro projects in Mumbai.

Line 2 Phase 2 will run for 23.6km from DN Nagar to Mankhurd with 22 stations and has an estimated pricetag of Rs 109.9bn ($US 2bn). The 32.3km 32-station Line 4 will link Wadala with Kasarvadavli and is expected to cost Rs 145.5bn.

Both projects are due to be completed by 2021.
