THE BOARD of Paris Transport Authority (RATP) has approved the purchase of 12 additional steel-wheeled MF01 metro trains for lines 2, 5, and 9.

The five-car trains will be built by a consortium of Areva, Alstom, and Bombardier and are due to be delivered from late 2016 onwards.

The €75m order is an option from a contract placed by RATP in 2001 for 160 trains.
