Tianjin opens metro Line 6

TRIAL operation began on the initial phase of Tianjin’s metro Line 6 on August 6, five years after the start of construction on the north-south line.

During the trial operation period services will run at 10-15 minute intervals between 09.00 and 16.00 on the eight-station western section between Changhonggongyuan and Nancuipingin the southern district of Nankai.

The initial operating section includes interchanges with Line 2 at Changhonggongyuan and Line 3 at Hongqinanlu.

When all phases are complete, Line 6 will be 50.1km long with 38 stations, linking Xinwaihuandonglu in the northeast with Xianshuigu in the southeast.
