The new line has 17 stations and interchanges with the 28.7km Line 1 at Metro Central and Nanching West station. The line is currently being extended east to Xinjia’an via a second interchange with Line 1 at Bayi Square and an interchange with Nanchang main station. The line will eventually be 31.7km long.
A syndicated loan for Yuan 22.5bn ($US 3.37bn) was signed on the same day to fund the construction of the 40km metro Line 4, which is due to open in 2021.
