The line will have three stations through the central parts of the city, and construction is expected to be completed in the next five years.

Over 30 construction companies presented bids in the metro tender process, which lasted 4.5 years. The project will be financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank.

“We have seen this contract as a crucial beginning for us in Ukraine,” says Limak Holding board member Mr Serdar Backakisiz. “Even though the construction time was set at five years, we are sure that we will complete the work earlier than this.”
