The fleet will be divided into 74 driving cars and 148 intermediate cars. Warsaw Metro wants the trains to be designed so that components which wear quickly can be exchanged.
Warsaw Metro will evaluate bids using a weighting system with 24 points for electricity consumption, 22 for maintenance, 4 for environment, and 50 for price.
The metro currently operates two types of train. Line 1 has a fleet of 108 cars dating from 2000 supplied by the former GEC Alsthom, while Line 2 is operated by 20 six-car Inspiro trains supplied by Siemens and Newag.
