The fleet will be divided into 74 driving cars and 148 intermediate cars. Warsaw Metro wants the trains to be designed so that components which wear quickly can be exchanged.

Warsaw Metro will evaluate bids using a weighting system with 24 points for electricity consumption, 22 for maintenance, 4 for environment, and 50 for price.

The metro currently operates three types of train: 18 six-car Metropolis trains supplied by Alstom, 35 six-car Inspiro trains supplied by Siemens and Newag, and 22 six-car series 81 trains supplied by Wagonmasz, Russia, in the 1990s and early 2000s.
