The line from Yuhuazhai in the southwest to Baoshuiqu in the northeast has 26 stations including interchanges with Line 1 at Tonghuamen and Line 2 at Xiaozhai.
Xi’an is planning to expand its metro network to six lines by 2020. The initial 35.2km section of Line 4 is due to open at the end of 2017 and the 25.7km Line 5 will be completed in 2020. The 20.1km western section of Line 6 is expected to open in 2019, while the 25.2km Lintong Line is due to be commissioned in 2021. Ultimately a 587km network is planned.
