The 15-station line has been operated by Bombardier, a member of the consortium which built the line, since it commercial services began in 2013. The new seven-year contract begins when the current deal expires in July, although NeoTrans will not take over operations until August, after it has completed operating preparations, due diligence and staff induction.

NeoTrans has operated the first section of Seoul's Shinbundang Line from Gangnam to Jeongja since 2011 and adding the Everline to its portfolio means that the company will be operating two driverless metro lines in close proximity to each other.

The City of Yongin says the new operating contract will generate annual savings of up to Won 2.4bn.
