There will be 17 stations on the 50km line, and an end to end journey time of 50 minutes is envisaged.

Each train will accommodate up to 300 passengers, with a daily forecast ridership of 100,000 passengers.

The project is part of a wider plan to improve public transport in the Haifa area. This includes an expansion of bus rapid transit and development of an interchange at Lev Ha-Mifratz station encompassing a bus terminal, the new Valley Railway, the tram-train line, and a cable car to the Technion Technical Institute and Haifa University both on nearby mount Carmel.
