The train consisted of a Stadler Euro 4000 diesel-electric locomotive and 13 fully-loaded hopper wagons with an overall train weight of 1200 tonnes.

The objective of the trial run was to test the bridge’s stability and the settlement of the track bed. The test running will last for about a week.

The 160km/h double-track electrified line is due to open in April 2018 and will cut journey times between the two cities from 1h 18min on the existing line to 28 minutes with trains running at 15-minute intervals.
