NEDTRAIN, which is responsible for service and maintenance of the Dutch railway fleet, has selected Alstom in a Euros 36 million contract to design and manufacture 161 IGBT traction systems to equip 81 regional trains.
The new traction systems will improve interoperability with signalling systems, and ease maintenance. The newly equipped trains will enter service in January 2012.
