Alstom has secured a Euros 16.5 million contract with Spain's Ministry of Transport for a signalling system on a 25km stretch of the Atlantic high speed mainline between Vigo and Portela.
Alstom will equip the line with its signalling and telecommunications systems, which includes smartlock points, signals, track circuits, telephone communications, power supply and technical premises. The new equipment will enable trains to reach line speeds of up to 200km/h reducing overall journey times.
