IRJ – live at the UITP congress in Vienna. A STUDY commissioned by Siemens claims Vienna is “a model of modern mobility”. It follows another study in April which named Vienna as the city with the highest quality of living.

The study says Vienna’s transport systems are particularly effective and efficient and backs the city’s plans to expand public transport. Public transport’s total market share is around 35% - high compared with many other major cities – helped by its dense network, high frequencies and modern vehicles.

The study, conducted by British research institute MRC McLean Hazel, also suggests Vienna is well positioned to cope with future demands on its public transport network.
