Bangladesh Railway orders Chinese dmus

BANGLADESH Railway (BR) has awarded CNR subsidiary Tangshan Railway Vehicle, China, a $US 58.3m contract to supply 20 metre-gauge dmus for commuter services.
The three-car trains will have a maximum speed of 80km/h and will accommodate up to 300 passengers. The contract, which was signed in Dhaka in the presence of Bangladesh's communications minister Mr Syed Abdul Hossain and Chinese Ambassador Mr Zhang Xianyi, includes components, staff training, and maintenance.
