The Urban Community of Bordeaux (CuB) has selected Alstom as its preferred supplier for 26 high-capacity LRVs which are being ordered as part of the expansion of the city's light rail network.

The initial order is worth Euros 80m although the total value of the contract could reach Euros 176m if CuB exercises all of its options to acquire up to 30 additional vehicles.

Like the existing fleet of 74 Bordeaux Citadis, the new vehicles will be equipped for operation using Alstom's APS ground power supply system, which was pioneered in the city when the first line opened in 2003.
