GERMAN Rail (DB) has officially inaugurated a new electronic signalbox in Munich Pasing, on the western approach to the city, which DB describes as the largest railway junction in Bavaria.
Work on the Euros 130m project started in 2007. The new signalbox replaces five old ones and is based on Siemens' Simis C technology. It controls 415 signals and 230 point machines, and has involved laying 780km of cables.
