DSB chief executive Mr Soren Eriksen blames poor quality control from
Ansaldobreda, citing software and exhaust problems, along with stained carpets
and damaged packing and seals. In April, Eriksen said: “I’ve stopped believing
in the IC4”.

The railway must now look for contingency cover for the trains, which will
include leasing double-deck hauled coaches from Bombardier, and hiring three
ICE-TD tilting dmus from German Rail (DB).
