Construction began on the 14.5km extension from the existing terminus
at Porte d'Ivry to Porte de la Chapelle earlier this year and the
project is due for completion in late 2012. The extension will have 26
stations, including interchanges with the metro and RER networks.
The
city council is contributing Euros 433.6 million to the project, while
the Ile de France regional government is providing the remaining Euros
218.3 million.
EIB has already provided Euros 130 million towards
the initial 7.9km phase of Line T3 between Pont Garigliano and Porte
d'Ivry, which opened in December 2006 and carries around 110,000
passengers per day.
