Catalonia's Passenger Transport Plan predicts that ridership on the
Vallès network will increase by more than 30% over the next 10 years.
In response, FGC is aiming to operate up to 40 trains per hour per
direction on the urban section of the line by 2015, compared with 32
trains per hour per direction today. Currently FGC needs 35 trains for
peak services, although the increased frequency will require the
availability of up to 66 trains. To accommodate this, FGC plans to
place a second order for an additional 20 class 113 trains in the near
future.
