Designed by Bombardier teams in Brazil, the United States, and Spain, the new system will allow trains to operate at minimum headways of 75 seconds on the existing 8.4km, six-station line and on the 11.6km, 11-station extension from Largo 13 to Capão Redondo, which is due to open in 2015 and will be served by 34 trains.
Sao Paulo awards metro Line 5 CBTC contract
SÃO Paulo Metro (CMSP) has awarded Bombardier a Reais 171m ($US 106.1m) contract to supply its Cityflo 650 communications-based train control (CBTC) signalling solution for metro Line 5.
