CCECC will have an 84% share of the $US 2.4 billion contract to upgrade
and electrify the 175km Thénia - Bourdj-Bou-Arreridj section of the
Algiers - Constantine line, which will take four years to complete. The
other contract is worth $US 606 million and covers the three-year
project to build a 55km line from El Afroun, east of Algiers, to Khemis
Miliana.
CCECC is a subsidiary of China Railway Construction Corporation, which
last year achieved revenues of $US 32.1 billion, a 27% increase over
2007 levels.
