gold-coast-new.jpgEnabling works are already underway on the initial 13km section from
Griffith University to Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach, which will have
16 stations. GoldlinQ will begin civil works later this year and the
line is due to open in early 2014. The project is being implemented as
a public-private partnership.

Future extensions are planned to link coastal districts of the city,
which is now Australia's sixth-largest with more than 500,000 residents
and 10 million visitors each year.
