The extension is worth approximately $US 288m and continues Bombardier’s work with Marc, which started in 2012. Tasks include operations and maintenance of a fleet of diesel locomotives and commuter coaches, customer service, station and facility maintenance, and maintenance of rail infrastructure on the section of the Brunswick line owned by MTA.
Under a separate contract awarded in February 2016, Bombardier is currently refurbishing 63 Marc III double-deck commuter coaches.
