The first six vehicles are being used on the North and Main Street (Red) lines alongside the existing fleet of 18 H1 and 19 H2 vehicles, which were supplied by Siemens. Further H3s will enter service in the coming weeks in readiness for the opening of the East/Green Line and Southeast/Purple lines in April.
The 29.6m-long three-section vehicles accommodate up to 242 passengers, 64 of them seated.
The delivery of the CAF fleet will enable MetroRail to operate LRVs in multiple on most weekday services.
