SFMTA signed a $US 648m contract with Siemens in July 2014 for 175 S200 SFs, and exercised a $US 210m option for 40 additional vehicles in January 2015. A second option for 40 vehicles was subsequently taken up in June 2015, leaving SFMTA with one remaining option for 45 LRVs.
SFMTA says three more S200 SFs are currently in various stages of assembly at Sacramento. The first vehicles will enter passenger service in late-summer.
