Final assembly of the vehicles will be carried out in Texas and the contract includes options for up to 24 additional trains

Detailed design is now underway on the 10-station line and construction is due to start next year. A joint venture of Archer Western and Herzog has been awarded a contract to carry out preliminary construction work on the project.

The line is forecast to carry 10,000 passengers per day when it opens in 2018, increasing to 14,500 passengers per day by 2035.
