Under the proposals, which will come into effect in mid-June, Araf and ORR will take on the role to bring the Channel Tunnel in line with EU legislation, which requires independent economic regulation of infrastructure by France and Britain.

Araf president Mr Pierre Cardo and ORR chair Mrs Anna Walker are due to sign a cooperation agreement on the future regulation of the Channel Tunnel in Paris on March 16.
