Skånetrafiken awarded Arriva a contract in June to operate Pågatåg services in the region and Alstom was included in the bid as maintenance provider.

The maintenance contract starts when the new Pågatåg concession comes into effect in December 2018.

Maintenance of the fleet of 99 trains will be carried out at Raus depot in Helsingborg. Alstom will be responsible for all maintenance except cleaning.

Alstom will use digital tools such as its TrainTracer solution for predictive maintenance.

Alstom is currently delivering a batch of 30 X61 sets, supplementing the 69 trains it has already supplied to Skånetrafiken. The trains are being assembled at Alstom’s Salzgitter plant in Germany and deliveries are due to be completed in January 2019.
