THE first of 42 Régio 2N double-deck EMUs for the Transilien suburban network around Paris was presented to the regional president of Ile-de-France Mrs Valérie Pécresse, Hauts-de-France regional president Mr Xavier Bertrand and French National Railways (SNCF) president Mr Guillaume Pepy at Bombardier’s Crespin plant on February 22.
The trains were ordered in December 2014 as part of a framework contract for up to 860 sets which was awarded to Bombardier in 2010.
Each 110m-long eight-car train will seat 1746 passengers.
The fleet is due to enter service from December on Transilien Line R, which links Paris Gare de Lyon with Montereau and Montargis.
