POLISH bus and tram builder Solaris is to supply 15 four-section Tramino LRVs to Braunschweiger Verkehrs-AG (BSVAG); its second order from a German light rail operator.

The 36m-long vehicles will be built to operate on Brauschweig's unique 1100mm-gauge network. The contract is worth Euros 33.1m, half of which will be funded by the Lower Saxony state government.

The LRVs will have 77 seats and room for another 124 standing passengers.

So far Solaris has sold 40 Traminos to the Polish city of Poznan and five similar vehicles to the German city of Jena for delivery next year.
