The deal is a breakthrough for CAF, representing the company's first LRV order in South America.
The group submitted a bid of Reais 1.47 billion. An Alstom-led consortium submitted a second place bid of Reais 1.57bn.
CAF will build the vehicles at its Hortolandia facility in Brazil.
Meanwhile CAF has also publicly announced its interest in bidding to supply trains for the Rio - Sao Paulo high-speed line.
