The Kuna 130.5m ($US 21.63m) order is being financed by a World Bank loan and supplements an initial contract for 10 trains signed by the two companies in 2014. The first of the additional trains will be delivered within 14 months.

The articluated three-car trains will have a maximum speed of 120km/h and each set will accommodate 167 seated and 175 standing passengers.

The order is part of HŽPP’s fleet renewal programme, which is intended to strengthen the operator in the run-up to liberalisation of rail passenger transport in Croatia.
