Voith says it has adapted the design of its KE-485 final drive to enable drop-in replacement for the existing SCG RF420i unit without the need to modify the vehicle.
Voith will supply complete new wheelsets, comprising a modified gear unit, axle, wheels, and axle bearings, with delivery scheduled for 2015. The final drives and cardan shafts are designed to operate up to 1.6 million kilometres without requiring an overhaul.
