FER will receive a total of 12 five-car 3kV dc trains, each accommodating up to 550 passengers. STV has ordered four six-car and 16 four-car Flirt emus and two six-car GTW dmus.

The contract includes options for an additional 22 trains.

Stadler is manufacturing the outer cars and bogies, traction equipment and driver's cabs at its sites in Switzerland, while AnsaldoBreda's Pistoia plant in Italy is responsible for intermediate vehicle production, final assembly, and commissioning.

The 160km/h emus have already been approved by the National Railway Safety Agency (ANSF), allowing them to operate without restriction on the national network.
