THE BOARD of Ile-de-France Transport Authority (STIF) has approved funding for the acquisition of 22 additional class Z 50000 Francilien EMUs from Bombardier for use on Paris suburban services.

Funding for the €162m order, an option from the original contract for 372 trains signed in 2006, will be split equally between Stif and French National Railways (SNCF).

The 112m-long trains will be deployed on Line H from Creil to Pontoise and Line K from Paris to Crépy-en-Valois by December 2016.
