The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is financing the €100m deal, and the trains will be delivered at two-week intervals between autumn 2014 and late summer 2015.
The 25kV 50 Hz sets have a maximum speed of 160km/h and will seat 234 passengers, 12 of them in first class accommodation.
The announcement continues a run of good form for Stadler, which has picked up a string of orders for multiple units in recent weeks. Last week it was announced the company had won a €266.8m contract to supply 48 Flirt emus to MÁV-Start and GySEV in Hungary, while Norwegian State Railways (NSB) exercised an option for 16 additional suburban trains. During February the company also signed major contracts to supply emus to Aeroexpress in Russia and Germany's WestfalenBahn.
