Following trials, the additional six-car trains will enter service in December on the Fortezza – San Candido, Merano – Bolzano, and Bolzano – Brennero lines. Five of the trains will be used by Trenitalia and the remaining three by SAD Local Transport.

€8m is also being invested in lengthening South Tyrol's four four-car Flirt emus to six cars to provide a uniform fleet. The project will be completed in June next year, giving all trains capacity for up to 631 passengers. Each train can accommodate up to 120 bicycles, and ski racks can be fitted for the winter season.
