The 3kV dc trains were originally destined for Russian operator Aeroexpress, which awarded Stadler a contract for 24 trains in February 2013 but subsequently reduced its order to 11 sets due to the weakening of the Russian Rouble. In April Georgian Railways (GR) agreed to take on four of the trains originally destined for Aeroexpress.

The first and second of the four-car trains for ADY was delivered in May 2015, with the third train arriving in August. The trains are used on Baku - Sumgayit services and seat 396 passengers, including 84 in business class.
