The fleet comprises 11 two-car trains, which accommodate up to 110 seated and 86 standing passengers, and six three-car sets seating 169 with a standing capacity of 151. All of the trains will be delivered by the end of next year and will be used on the Bari – Altamura – Matera and Bari – Avigliano – Potenza lines.

The €83m order is being funded by the regions of Puglia and Basilicata and the European Regional Development Fund.

All of the 120km/h trains have low-floor areas to ease boarding and alighting at stations with low platforms. The three-car trains are also equipped with a wheelchair-accessible toilet.
