As part of the framework contract, MÁV-Start needs to order an initial 10 vehicles which are most likely to be of the double-deck Kiss type and there is an option for a further 30 sets in the next eight years.

Price accounted for around 60% of the scoring in the tender evaluation. The first 10 EMUs will cost €16.9m per train, any later orders will cost €14.95m per train.

The framework contract will also include placing into service, training, software, and diagnostics. The investment is 100% financed from EU sources.
