Sweg selects Bombardier for EMU framework SWEG

GERMAN regional rail operator Sweg placed a contract award notice in the Official Journal of the European Union on October 24 confirming it has selected Bombardier for a framework agreement to supply and maintain EMUs for use on regional services in the state of Baden-Württemberg.

The trains will be ordered as required to operate services tendered by the state government. In order to bid for these contracts, Sweg must first conclude a framework agreement with a rolling stock supplier to ensure it can provide the train fleet required in time for the start of operations.

Sweg already operates two Bombardier Talent 2 EMUs on the Bad Krozingen - Münstertal line, which is part of the Breisgau S-Bahn network.

Sweg is 100%-owned by the state of Baden-Württemberg.
