TRANSDEV Germany has awarded Alstom a €115m contract to supply 28 Coradia Lint DMUs for Augsburg Diesel Network 1, which the company's Bavarian Regional Rail (BRB) subsidiary will operate for 12 years from December 2018.

The order comprises 19 Lint 41 sets, five Lint 54s and five Lint 81s. The 140km/h trains will be assembled at Alstom's Salzgitter plant.

BRB was selected last November by Bavarian Railway Company (BEG) for the contract to operate around 1.35 million passenger-km per year on the Munich - Füssen, Augsburg - Füssen and Augsburg - Landsberg lines.

BRB already operates the larger Augsburg Diesel Network 2 using a fleet of 28 Alstom Lint 41 DMUs.
